I am a researcher and practitioner exploring the history and frontiers of expressive computation, especially in the areas of social simulation, narrative, and natural language.

My work has been featured in The Guardian, tHE vERGEVICERolling Stone, and on BBC Radio, and has appeared at IndieCade, Slamdance, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

I'm from Minneapolis and I live with my wife, Nina, in Santa Cruz, California.

Right now, I'm finishing up my PhD at the University of California, Santa Cruz, where I'm a member of the Expressive Intelligence Studio. I'm currently on the job market.
